Here are some notes for what to expect before, during and after the photoshoot.

BEFORE THE SHOOT

  • A fee of half the total is required to confirm the booking, with the remaining amount due by the day of the shoot. The reservation fee is non-refundable, but will be credited towards the package you choose. The credit is valid for rescheduling a shoot as long as (a) a studio has not been booked, and (b) at least 48-hours notice is given before the booked shoot; otherwise, the credit is forfeit.
  • All outdoor shoots are subject to weather and availability of location; studio shoots are subject to studio booking availability
  • Outdoor locations include anywhere within the Greater Vancouver
  • If you need professional makeup or hair done, let me know what you’d like and I can get you a quote from my team. For studio booking, preparation would be done at the studio. For on location, I would get you in touch with my makeup artist and/or hairstylist beforehand for you to arrange with them directly.
  • Clothing suggestions for your sessions:
    • Portraits
      • Dark clothing tends to slenderize subjects, and also creates a more serious look
      • Avoid colours that are really bright
      • Pastels work well to enhance skin tones, though avoid pink as it is similar to skin tones. Pale yellow or pale blue can work well
      • Avoid prints, patterns, and logos
      • Long sleeves work well to bring more attention to the face
      • Minimal accessories are ideal; avoid overaccessorizing
      • V-necks or turtlenecks work well
    • For group or family sessions:
      • Simple clothing usually works the best
      • Matching set of colours is nice (for example, a set of warm colours, or a set of cool colours)
      • Solid colours work well; avoid loud or busy patterns
      • White top with khakis or jeans is a nice combination
    • Newborns and babies:
      • Photos newborns and babies look best in their natural element
      • If you want them to be photographed with clothes, solid colours are usually good (if you have a specific item in mind, that is okay too)
      • Bare feet are a must
      • Parents to dress in solid black from head to toe for getting the creative shots

DURING THE SHOOT

AFTER THE SHOOT

  • Picking Your Photos
    • For all portrait and headshot packages, an online image gallery for selecting proofs will be made available 24 hours after the shoot
    • You can open the gallery link in a web browser
    • Pick your favourites by tapping or clicking on the heart icon of the photo you want to select
    • You will be prompted for your email the first time – this lets you keep track of your selections. In this way, you can review your picks and refine your selections
    • Once you are happy with your choices, let me know by email (smile@mikewuphotography.com)
  • Image Delivery
    • Photos will be delivered via a shared online folder, available for unlimited downloads from this folder for a period of 30 days
    • For weddings, photos may be delivered via a USB key, depending on the total size of files.
  • Image Format
    • Fully edited photos in JPEG format
    • 3600px on the long dimension for high-resolution for all packages
    • Available upon request: files optimized for social media
  • Usage
    • A license for personal use will be included for all images for you to use digitally and in print (social media, website, portfolio, posters, etc)
    • For commercial use of images, please contact me for a license
