Desktop Wallpapers to Soothe the Soul

There’s something about landscape photography that I find really relaxing. And there’s something about using them as desktop wallpapers that calms one’s mind when working on a computer.  So I thought I’d share some of my photos from random adventures in the hopes that you find them restful and rejuvenating as well. The wallpapers below are offered here as digital downloads.

Cloudscape over Needle Peak

Description: From this mountain summit that views 360 degrees, clouds formed overtop of all the surrounding mountains. It made for some epic skyscapes especially when the sun peaked through. However, one of the dark clouds came over and dumped hail – not something you’d expect in mid-July!

Mr Northern Lights, please meet Miss Milky Way

Description: Two of nature’s most beautiful sights in the night sky team up to create a stunning scene. I was very fortunate to be able to witness these two together on a moonless night when the aurora borealis was strong enough to reach as far south as Vancouver.

Sunset at the Summit

Description: This capture was taken from the top of Stawamus Chief in BC as the sun was setting. As usual, sunsets from the summit of a mountain mean I either stay up there overnight or hike back down in the dark. For this photo, it was the latter but so worth seeing the last light of the day from a vantage point.

How to Change Your Desktop Wallpaper

The images will open in a new browser tab. All you have to do is save the image to your computer, then follow the instructions below to set your desktop wallpaper depending on the computer you are using.

Conclusion

I’ll be adding more from time to time. In the meantime, I occasionally post landscapes/seascapes/skyscapes along with portrait photos on my Facebook photo page.

Let me know in the comments if you have any requests or contact me if you’re looking to order prints. Enjoy!

Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any
widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates.
I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some
time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with
something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything.
I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.
